Climate action meetings
7 October 2024

In 2022 we hosted several Climate Action meetings. We are working together with an organisation designed to support and encourage sustainable ways of living ‘Sustainable Penzance’, and with our local councillor who is championing these issues (Cllr Thalia Marrington).

Together we have hosted a series of Climate action meetings, which give local residents the opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns and discuss opportunities with people and organisations who have influence (e.g., Environment Agency, SW Water, Cornwall Council).

These meetings have been important in providing a voice to the local community, and allowing a channel of communication to flow, which will hopefully lead to positive change. An example of an action which has come out of these meeting is the plan to install electric bike lockup’s in the village, and the installation of standard recycling bins and fishing net recycle bins.

We have also hosted community meetings with The Environment Agency to support local people suffering from flooding issues (a big problem in the area.)

By attending our events or hiring the hall you are helping to fund our community projects. If you would like to make a donation you can do so here.

We aim to reduce our impact on the environment by becoming a plastic free community leader….

Okay, thank you
