Community Garden

In partnership with Mousehole School we have developed a community garden for the village. The garden brings the school and local community together and gives young and old alike a chance to benefit from spending time in nature. The garden is used for outdoor learning, community workshops and events.

The Mousehole Community Garden has been developed in an area adjacent to the school field on Paul Lane. Mousehole School pupils and volunteers, including school parents and members of the local community have been working hard to bring the community garden to life.

We have installed a lock up to store tools and equipment, destoned the ground in preparation for the polytunnel and growing beds, cut back brambles and weeds, built compost toilets and constructed a large polytunnel. The site now has a polytunnel and outdoor growing beds and running water. Our volunteers helped to dig the pit for the waterpipe, created a soak away, built a shed to protect the tap and a shed for the Staff and Volunteers to plan their gardening projects and have a much needed cuppa after all their amazing work.

By attending our events or hiring the hall you are helping to fund our community projects. If you would like to make a donation you can do so here.

“I’ve really enjoyed helping with the community garden. The whole family had fun on the volunteering day, and it was great seeing the kids joining in and taking pride in their hard work. It’s been a fantastic chance to get to know other school parents and meet other members of the community in Mousehole too.”

“Watering in the polytunnel on the way to school gives my children and I a moment of calm that sets us up for the day.”

“It was wonderful to speak to Mousehole School pupils at the farmers’ market about the produce they have been growing in the community garden.”
