MOUSEHOLE HERITAGE CENTRE

We were successful in gaining Shared Prosperity funding to enable us to create an Archive and Heritage Centre, on the ground floor of the Solomon Browne Hall. Work is currently starting and we hope to have the first phase of the Centre ready to open in Spring 2024.

The Mousehole Archive and Heritage Centre will bring to life the unique and colourful past
of Mousehole and its inhabitants.

Its purpose will be to:

• Serve as an information centre in order to educate and entertain the general
public with respect to Mousehole’s colourful historic past, by way of permanent, temporary,
and digital displays.
• Serve as a focal point for linking Mousehole’s archive of heritage material with other centres
of local heritage throughout the Duchy of Cornwall.
• Provide a home for the Mousehole Historical Research and Archive Society
(The Mousehole Archive).

Key objectives of this Archive and Heritage Centre include:

• Informing and engaging local people with their heritage and culture
• Giving holiday makers an insight into Mousehole’s unique heritage and culture

Through sharing this knowledge of our local heritage and culture, we aim to encourage our
community to care for and preserve our village and its heritage.

Okay, thank you
